Who we are

SUMMER is provided by Double Cassette Inc. (“Double Cassette,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how information is handled when you visit summer-stems.com, purchase SUMMER, or activate a SUMMER license.

Website information

Our website is delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process limited technical information, such as network requests, IP addresses, device and browser information, and security signals, to deliver and protect the website.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate website traffic and performance. It is designed without advertising cookies and, according to Cloudflare, does not collect or use visitors’ personal data.

Purchases and licensing

Polar Software, Inc. acts as the merchant of record and authorized reseller for SUMMER. When you purchase, Polar handles information such as your name, email address, billing details, payment information, tax information, order history, receipts, license keys, and customer-portal access under its own privacy policy. Double Cassette may receive order, customer, license, and support information needed to provide the software and support your purchase.

When you activate or validate SUMMER, the app sends the license key and a randomly generated device identifier to Polar. SUMMER stores the local activation record in the macOS Keychain. This information is used to validate the license, enforce its activation limit, prevent misuse, and provide offline license access for a limited period.

Your audio stays on your Mac

SUMMER processes your mix and stem files locally on your Mac. The application does not upload your audio files to Double Cassette or Polar as part of its normal processing.

Cookies

We do not use advertising cookies. Cloudflare may use cookies or similar technologies that are strictly necessary for security, fraud prevention, or delivery of the website. Polar’s checkout and customer portal may use their own necessary technologies under Polar’s policies.

How information is used

Information available to us may be used to deliver and license SUMMER, provide support, communicate about a purchase, protect the software and website, diagnose problems, comply with legal obligations, and improve the product and website.

Sharing and retention

We share information only with service providers that help operate SUMMER and the website, when required by law, to protect legal rights and prevent fraud, or as part of a corporate transaction. Service providers process information under their own terms and applicable data-protection obligations.

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for licensing, support, security, accounting, tax, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Polar controls the retention of information it processes as merchant of record.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to make a request. For payment, order, and Polar-account requests, you may also need to contact Polar directly.

Children

SUMMER is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product, website, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the latest version.
